We caught up with our Buddies again this week, this time going upstairs to visit them in their classroom. We have time with our buddies every Monday and we will take it in turns for them to visit us and for us to visit them; ' like a pattern,' said Chean Hor.

Cooperation
We have been exploring the Transdisciplinary Skill of Cooperating.
What does it look like?
How does it work?
Modelled writing
The aim of
modelled writing is to use the “think aloud strategy” to model what goes on in the
head of the writer. Not only does this give the teacher opportunities to
explicitly talk about elements of the writing process, but it also allows
students to observe the way a writer crafts and records a text.
Today I
shared a little about my weekend as I recounted some things I did. We wondered
how many words I had written. Emerson shared her ideas of what words were. Some
children shared the words they knew in my story while others shared some
letters they were familiar with.
We will find out more about the differences between letters, words and sentences as we grow as writers this year.
You might have noticed I crossed out the word for, instead of erasing ... I love mistakes!

Patterns
We have been finding out about patterns.
Some children wanted to explore the playground and look for patterns outside.
Initially someone shared, 'A pattern is when the colour repeats.'
We found out patterns are not just about colours!
We will be learning to:
- Recognize, create, describe and extend patterns
- Create and explain patterns
What patterns can you find at home?
Where are they?
Houses
Today at Assembly we found out about the House system at ISPP.
Your child will bring home a coloured t-shirt today.
Blue - Mekong
Yellow- Kouprey
Green- Lotus
Orange- Bayon
These t-shirts are for Sport's Day and special events.
They are not to be worn as the sports uniform when we have PE.

Welcome to our Kindergarten blog.
I would like to take this chance to introduce myself and Ms Neary.
I am from Melbourne, Australia and taught in schools in this city before heading overseas to teach in 2004. I have mainly worked with Pre K, Kindergarten and Grade 1 age children during my international teaching although in Australia I also have experience teaching other grades.
I started my international teaching career in Tokyo, Japan, then moved on to teach in Beijing, China, had a little time living but not working, in New Delhi India, got back to work in Shanghai, China and spent the last 3 years in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Ms Neary has been here at ISPP since 2003. She is from Svay Reing province. Ms Neary likes gardening. She has a cat and a dog. She is a great cook-I have already eaten some of her yummy brownies!
Mr Pheap has been at ISPP for 15 years. He likes reading and PE. Mr Pheap will be helping all of the Kindergarten classes.
We are looking forward to a fun year ahead working with you and your child.
